Poznań has been one of the strongest business centers in Poland for years. The city is home to over 135,000 entities, many of which are companies with foreign capital (from Germany, France, or the United Kingdom). Key sectors include advanced manufacturing, BPO, SSC, IT, R&D, and logistics. Among the largest investors are Volkswagen, Bridgestone, Mars, and GSK, while major local champions, such as Żabka and Allegro are based here as well. Recently, Żabka has expanded abroad, opening in Romania under the brand name Fro.

Poznań’s economic development has been recognized with numerous awards, including being ranked among the Top 10 European Cities of the Future by the Financial Times and the title of Best City to Live In by Business Insider Poland. The city’s unemployment rate has remained one of the lowest in both Poland and Europe for a long time.

In recent years, Poznań has also emerged as a technological leader. The AI Factory, one of the key tech hubs in Central and Eastern Europe, particularly important for advancements in medicine and public health, is being developed here. Cooperating with IBM, the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center has established the region’s first quantum hub. Poland’s first quantum computer, located in Poznań, is expected to foster progress in fields, such as biomedicine and industrial process optimization.
