Ramona Chiriac

BIO
Ramona Chiriac is the Head of the European Commission Representation in Romania, a position she has held since July 2021 under the political authority of President Ursula von der Leyen.
With over 20 years of experience in European affairs, she combines a deep understanding of public administration and diplomacy. A career diplomat, she previously served as Romania’s Consul General in Bavaria and has worked extensively on EU integration, strategic communication, and public diplomacy.
She is also a recognised voice on leadership and female empowerment, advocating for a more inclusive, emotionally intelligent leadership culture in Europe. An author and researcher, she has published work on discourse analysis and political science, and is currently writing a book on leadership, vulnerability, and authenticity in public life.
Ms Chiriac holds two Master’s degrees — in European Studies and Gender Studies — and has completed executive education at Yale University, the University of Cambridge, the Aspen Institute, and the George C. Marshall Center.
