Presidential Adviser – Department of Economic and Social Policies

Radu Burnete was, between 2020 and 2025, the executive director of the Concordia Employers’ Confederation, the most important employers’ organization in Romania affiliated with BusinessEurope, the International Organization of Employers, and Business at OECD.

Between 2013 and 2020, Mr. Burnete coordinated public affairs for the Foreign Investors Council – FIC, an organization that brings together the most important foreign investors in Romania. He has previously worked in Brussels for Bruswick LLP, a consulting firm specialised in financial services, was an assistant in the Romanian Parliament, and a journalist at Ziarul Financiar.

To date, Radu Burnete did not have any political affiliation.

In the 12 years spent at FIC and Concordia, Mr. Burnete has accumulated in-depth knowledge of the private sector in Romania, as well as of national and European social dialogue.

Radu Burnete graduated from the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Bucharest in 2008 and holds a Master in Advanced International Studies from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna (2011).

He was born in Sibiu, and has also lived in the United States, Austria, and Belgium. He is passionate about history, philosophy, and economics, which he tries to find as much time as possible to study.

He was appointed Presidential Adviser for Economic and Social Issues starting 1 July 2025
