Dardan Fusha was born on June 16, 1981. He completed primary and secondary school in his hometown, Podujeva. In 2006 he graduated from the University of Prishtina, Faculty of Economics, Department of Management and Informatics, while in 2010 he completed his Master’s degree in Financial Law, at the Institute of Law and Finance, Department of Finance, Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. In 2019, he completed the Leadership Program in Financial Inclusion at Tufts University – The Fletcher School, in Boston Massachusetts, USA.

Mr Fusha started his career as an assistant banking supervisor at the Central Bank in 2006. He was later promoted to the position of Senior Financial Analyst, and in 2012 was appointed to the position of Head of the Regulatory Division in the Licensing and Methodology Department. During this period, Mr Fusha played a significant role in the development of the regulatory and supervisory framework for banks. In 2017, he was appointed Director of the Payment System Department, in supervising the operations of the interbank payment system and leading key regulatory initiatives and reforms in this area.

Mr Fusha’s expertise also extends to his role as a leader or supporter in several important projects, developed by the CBK with the support of the US Treasury, IMF, WB, USAID, GIZ and other international organizations, such as the adoption of the Regulatory Framework for Residential Mortgage Loans and Real Estate Valuation, Consumer Protection, the Basel Framework, Corporate Governance, including the implementation of the ongoing Remittances and Payments Program, financed by SECO and implemented by the World Bank, to advance the legal and technical infrastructure.
