Claudiu Negrea is Director of the Financial Market Infrastructures and Payments Oversight Department at the National Bank of Romania, where he has dedicated over 17 years to the supervision and resilience of financial market infrastructures, payment schemes and payment instruments. His expertise lies in the strategic monitoring and risk assessment of systems critical to Romania’s financial stability.

In parallel with his professional role, Claudiu is pursuing a PhD at the Romanian Academy, focusing on operational and security risk analysis—an area that complements and deepens his work at the central bank.

As the coordinator of the Critical Infrastructures Protection Committee, Claudiu leads national efforts to safeguard Romania’s essential financial services. He fosters collaboration among key stakeholders to mitigate threats and ensure the robustness of the country’s financial ecosystem.
