Antoaneta Curteanu is one of the most respected figures in the Romanian banking industry, with over 30 years of experience, most of which has been within the UniCredit Group, successfully succeeding to make a difference by creating high-performance teams.

Her professional journey covers several top management roles at UniCredit Romania, where she served as Executive Vice President and Member of the Management Board between 2005 and 2007, later taking on the position of Global Transaction Banking Director and Corporate Director at UniCredit Țiriac Bank.

In 2010, Antoaneta Curteanu became CEO of UniCredit Leasing Romania, the market leader in leasing, a position she held until 2016. After that,she expanded her expertise internationally, coordinating the Corporate Investment and Private Banking Division and serving as a Member of the Management Board at UniCredit Bulbank in Bulgaria.

From 2019 until November 2024, she held the position of Executive Vice President and Member of the Management Board of the Retail Division at UniCredit Bank S.A.

Until August 15th she acted as Executive President of Alpha Bank Romania, being appointed by UniCredit Group to coordinate the strategic integration process of the bank on the local market, a key moment for the consolidation of the Romanian banking sector.

Antoaneta Curteanu is a graduate of the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest and holds a master’s degree in banking from Louisiana State University, USA. She is also member of Professional Women Network, supporting excellence and diversity in financial leadership.
