Emir Kurtić, Ph.D. is the Vice Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), a position he assumed in January 2025 to oversee statistics, foreign debt servicing, European integration, and payment systems. Prior to his governance role, he spent over fifteen years at the University of Sarajevo’s School of Economics and Business, rising to Associate Professor and serving as Vice-Dean for international cooperation. A versatile researcher and corporate consultant, Dr. Kurtić has directed strategic planning and competitiveness projects for global institutions like the World Bank and the UNDP. Uniquely bridging macroeconomics with athletics, he is also a licensed UEFA A Elite Youth coach who contributes to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s youth national football selections, chairs the regional operations of a prominent British sports analytics firm, and co-authored the book Business Anatomy.
