Iliana Ivanova is a Member of the European Court of Auditors, Chamber I: Sustainable Use
of Natural Resources.
Iliana Ivanova has dedicated a great part of her professional experience working for the
well-being and functioning of the European Union. She was elected Member of the
European Parliament in 2009, where she served as vice-chair of the Budgetary Control
Committee and vice-chair of the EU-China Delegation. In 2013 Ivanova was appointed
Member of the European Court of Auditors, she was a reporting member for a range of
compliance and performance tasks, focused among others on digitalisation and circular
economy. Between 2016-2022 she was Dean of Chamber II, responsible for Investment
for Cohesion, Growth and Inclusion. From 2023 to 2024, Iliana Ivanova served as the
European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth.

Her background also includes experience as a financial analyst at American financial
institutions, and she holds an MBA in global management from Thunderbird School of
Global Management in Arizona
