Simona Constantinescu

Simona Constantinescu is a prominent leader in the Romanian business landscape, currently serving as President of the Romanian Federation of Hotels Industry(FIHR), Vice-President of the Concordia Employers’ Confederation, and Chair of the Tourism Advisory Council within the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism (MEDAT). Furthermore, she serves as an Independent Board Member for Electrolafa International, a growing Romanian entrepreneurial venture currently undergoing the listing process on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).
With over 25 years of experience in leading, building, and transforming businesses across hospitality, financial services, and consultancy, Simona has held senior management and corporate governance positions. This extensive background has provided her with a profound understanding of organizational dynamics, diverse shareholding structures, and the adaptation of decision-making processes within complex environments.
For over a decade, she led ANA Hotels—Romania’s largest hotel group by turnover—guiding the company through significant economic shifts, the COVID-19 pandemic, and challenging geopolitical contexts, including the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. Her leadership style emphasizes adaptability, strategic investment, and the creation of long-term value in the tourism sector.
Through her national and international roles (FIHR, Concordia, HOTREC), Simona actively contributes to defining development strategies for Romanian tourism and promoting a sustainable and competitive hospitality industry. As Chair of the Tourism Advisory Council at MEDAT, she champions public-private partnerships to ensure the sustainable growth of the sector. Her advocacy and lobbying efforts involve close collaboration with the Concordia Confederation at the national level and HOTREC at the EU level, where she represents business interests in shaping legal frameworks and negotiating the implementation of optimal, sustainable regulations and directives.
Simona Constantinescu holds an Executive MBA from ASEBUSS & the University of Washington, Seattle, and a Master’s degree in Board Practice & Directorship from Henley Business School (UK) & Envisia.
